Recordings from the personal collection of Randolph S. Rothschild (1909-2003), a patron of classical music, a board member for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Peabody Institute, and a record collector who maintained an active home studio. From 1954 to 1993 Rothschild served as president of the Chamber Music Society of Baltimore, an organization that presented contemporary classical music concerts. The Rothschild collection contains thousands of self-produced recordings of Chamber Music Society concerts and radio broadcasts, many of which feature twentieth-century classical music or jazz.
