Leon Fleisher (1928-2020) was a pianist, conductor, and member of the Peabody Conservatory faculty for 61 years. This collection contains audio and video recordings of Fleisher from every stage of his career, including his performances as a young soloist with major orchestras, his interpretations of music for piano left hand, his conducting, and his teaching. Also included are dozens of interviews and news segments, many of which center on his late-career return to two-handed playing.

Processing and digitization of the Leon Fleisher papers in 2022-2023 was made possible by generous donations from Katherine Jacobson Fleisher and Mr. and Mrs. Harris Kempner Jr.
